After finding out that my husband and I were expecting a baby girl, I couldn’t wait for her arrival so that I could dress her in smocked clothing from head to toe! After a premature and rough start into this world, we brought our sweet daughter home in July of 2007. By that time, I already had a closet FULL of boutique clothing waiting for her and knew I had an addiction!!! I quickly learned that I could not pass a children’s boutique without walking in ‘just to look’ and walking out with a shopping bag full! 

 

After a couple of years of over-buying for our daughter, I knew that I should probably take inventory of all of my daughter’s treasures and see what I could part with. This was not an easy task! I kept putting off that task in hopes of having another daughter one day and passing these treasures on to her.   In the summer of 2009, we were overjoyed when we learned that we were expecting another baby. This suddenly justified my addiction - at least it did to me!   Well, God has a sense of humor! He blessed us with our handsome son in February of 2010. As precious as he is, pink is NOT his color nor does he look good in dresses!   Feeling blessed with a daughter and a son, I knew my baby days were done. So with great reluctance, I decided to part with some of my daughter’s clothes. Once I started going through all of them, I realized how bad my addiction truly was! I hated to take these things to a local consignment shop since I knew I would NEVER get what they were really worth. I knew there were other mommies that felt the same way I did.  It was at that point that an idea came to me….why not start your own business! 

And so

The Smock Exchange

was born!

 

The Smock Exchange is the ONLY website created for moms to sell their children’s boutique clothing and in return, make money to purchase more!
